Wesley wants to read them at bedtime by himself. He can read it,...but I wanted to know if anyone else has read them and what you think of them?

Maybe it's the old southern baptist in me, but Skye is not allowed to read them simply because of the witchcraft conotations. I think matters of the supernatural, even religious in nature, are best left to the childs level of maturity. When she'd a bit older and can understand more about such matters in a less impressionable way, then she can read them. If Wesley can diffrentiate between the real witchcraft and the make-believe, I see no harm--at least he will be READING!! For now, Skye has a hard time seperating fact from fiction.

I'm reading Harry Potter to my child... I don't think there will be any problem with "witchcraft" connotations. There are so many other 'magic' storybook tales that tons of kids read. But I probably won't read the sequels, esp the 4th, cuz they get a little too scary!
